Southfield Village, Stamford CT

 

Southfield Village renamed Southwood Square is a 330 unit apartment complex being redeveloped by the Beacon and Corcoran Jennison Companies under HUD's Hope VI program, with assistance from the City of Stamford, the Stamford Housing Authority, and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. The existing 1940 Southfield Village Public Housing project is being demolished in phases and replaced by new townhouses and small apartment buildings. Phase 1 construction was completed in 2001, with final completion expected in 2004.
